Terex Knuckle Boom Lifts Nova Scotia

Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescoping booms lifts are designed to mount a work bucket on a straight, extendable arm which is located on a rotating turntable. Normally, telescoping boom lifts are used for jobs that need reaching at maximum height, exceeding other types of lifts. For instance, workers could perform exterior repairs or renovations on buildings of medium height but utilizing these lifts rather than having the extra work of setting up a pulley system or an outside elevator.

The boom lift is only designed to hold one person. These buckets are better suited to particular jobs like electrical repair, rather than window washing or general maintenance. These lifts are offered with both indoor and outdoor tires and are available in gas or electric configurations.

Scissor Lifts
Under the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the machinery gets its name. Once the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. Since these units should be directly positioned below the work site, compared to boom lifts, these units are way more limited in their use.

Scissor lifts do, however, provide bigger platforms that enable the operator controlling the lift to access a bigger work surface when the lift is raised. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of an issue with these models, as they need to sit on flat ground in order to be used. Scissor lifts are great for being utilized for window installation or cladding, as they provide the employees with the desired mobility; they are also a great alternative for exterior repairs or window cleaning applications.

Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
The cherry picker or boom truck refers to the utility vehicle often utilized to raise workers for various tasks performed at heights. Generally, these trucks have a cab. It is here where the driver sits and controls the machinery. There is a bucket for where the worker could stand as well as an actuator arm for lifting the boom and a winch for lifting.

Boom trucks take employees to heights that would normally be inaccessible. The function of cranes is to lift heavy materials or equipment from one location to another. There are different kinds of cranes that could perform a variety of purposes. Both of these different kinds of equipment excel at different jobs and are suitable for specific applications and accomplishing particular tasks.
