In order to be a successful unit, a forklift has to be powerful enough to last in all working environments for many hours of use. It should be able to move loads efficiently and quickly as well. The machine must be ergonomically correct and comfortable for the operator too.
The Yale powertrain is rugged and reliable. It has to be powerful enough to constantly provide amazing durability through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs along with strong gears and extremely tough shafts. The engine, transmission, steer axle and drive are all isolated to be able to decrease both vibration and noise inside of the operator's compartment.
Mazda and GM LP & Gas Engines:
Mazda's LP engine and GM's gas engines use cast iron blocks to promote long life. These types of equipment offer an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which needs minimal adjustment or repair. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats that minimize wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Inside the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engines, a high compression ratio offers exceptional torque. Incredible fuel consumption is provided by efficient fuel systems.
Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on the majority of machines. It features gears which are 15% stronger and shafts that give resistance when driving on rough environment. The strong clutch packs provide 3 times the life of previous packs. Lastly, there is available electronic inching that automatically adjusts so as to decrease maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system uses a computer-controlled power reversal which increases durability, extends tire life, and minimizes shock loading. Also, the auto deceleration feature reduces brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Drive Axle:
Engineered for extra durability, the drive axle features its brake drum mounting, full floating axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes which are entirely sealed against contamination and practically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to be able to protect the steer cylinder from debris and damage. It has fixed-length tie rods to add extra stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist front to back and side-to-side forces. In addition, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
Yale had made numerous ergonomic features and safety features part of their standard packages. These machinery would handle tough settings, while keeping the operator both comfortable and safe for the length of their shift.
