Daewoo Dual Fuel Forklifts Nova Scotia

Basic Fuel Types of Forklifts
Forklifts are powered lift trucks that are utilized in a wide variety of industries to move heavy materials and items. Forklifts are tough and dependable equipment that are essential tools in warehouse and construction settings. Lift truck units differ depending on the kind of work environment and the kind of fuel which is used to power the lift truck.

Electricity
Electric forklifts are great for work sites that have limited ventilation since they make no exhaust fumes and are relatively quiet. They are designed to be powered by industrial-strength, large batteries. Because the electric lift truck batteries should be charging, the worksite will need a charging station. The batteries are durable and can be re-charged up to 1,500 times before they need to be replaced. The charging station should be situated in a ventilated area and include an emergency eyewash station and an acid spill kit.

Propane
Forklifts powered by liquid propane have some benefits over electric and diesel powered equipment making them fairly common in warehouse and industrial settings. Propane engines are a lot cleaner compared to diesel-powered units. There is no down time required to recharge an industrial battery, and the cost for propane is less compared to the cost of electricity. A lift truck propane tank can be easily and quickly refueled by changing out the empty tank with a full tank. Normally an off-site supplier refills the empty tank, making refueling really efficient and safe.

Diesel and Gasoline
For outdoor applications and rough terrain, the diesel and gas forklifts are the equipment of choice. These equipment are fairly common in lumber yards and on construction sites. Their disadvantages include relatively high fuel costs, fairly high maintenance requirements and odorous exhaust. Their advantages comprise reliability in tough conditions and a longer lifespan than other units. Gasoline and diesel units must be refueled at a supply station on site which meets safety and health regulations.
