Forklifts are vehicles usually found within warehouses, factories and other work locations where it is necessary to move heavy materials from one location to another. The mast is the mechanism located on the front of the forklift that hydraulically lifts and lowers the load. The "cat" is the area which is protected where the forklift operator sits.
Forklifts could lift loads which weigh between one to five tons. Some types can be used to carry shipping containers and much heavier loads.
Forklift tires should be checked and maintained regularly. The kinds of tires on various forklifts vary according to factors like frequency of use, load weights and ground surfaces. Every driver of a forklift must have access to tire press, replacement tires and a forklift jack.
Tire Maintenance Instructions
You should frequently inspect the tires. Watch for signs of damage and wear to the tires. If the wear on the tire exceeds 40 percent, it has to be replaced.
When buying tires, make sure that you are purchasing the correct type - solid, pneumatic or polyurethane.
When you need to replace the tires, the forklift jack must be positioned under the tire. You can easily change the tires if you lift the forklift high enough.
You could utilize the tire press to pull the tire from the rim and remove the damaged tire. Install the new tire and properly secure it. If you are changing more than one tire and you have only one jack, lower the forklift, then reposition the jack at the next tire.
On-site tire repair could be performed by a repair company. If the tire is extremely large for both mobile and in-house tire presses, the tire that is damaged should be transported to a shop that has a stationary tire press.
