Kinds of Boom Lifts or Construction Lifts
A boom lift is a piece of machine that enables workers to perform tasks without having to construct a scaffolding. They are utilized to do maintenance work, to work on elevated structures and are common machinery found in factory and warehouse settings too.

Boom lifts can usually provide wheeled and powered bases that can drive itself to the work place and have a platform on them to lift the workers. There are many various kinds of lifts and each one is suited to different tasks and environment.

Bucket Trucks
Bucket trucks or cherry pickers, are built with a long boom that has a bucket attached at the end. This bucket area is where a worker can stand. Usually, bucket trucks are used by utility workers and by landscapers. Landscapers often utilize these equipment to cut trees.

Each and every bucket truck has a boom assembly mounted to a regular truck, that allows these vehicles to move swiftly on regular roads. Moreover, this increases the area which this machine can service efficiently. This is specially essential for power companies. Like for example, many of these businesses use cherry pickers to raise workers up so they could reach and work on transmission lines. The buckets have to be inspected frequently and properly insulated since they are working near potential shock hazards.

Articulated boom lifts are also called "knuckle lifts", and have a work platform that is mounted on an arm which is able to bend in order to reach around obstacles. The base of the lift includes a turntable and is capable of turning the lift in a full circle. The base of the lift is mounted on wheels also for extra mobility.

Articulated boom lifts are used for landscaping projects and are useful for maintenance work on already-finished projects that do not need easy access to the area directly beneath the jobsite. These lifts could be utilized for exterior electrical work and to repair piping, as well as areas which are difficult to clean. Often knuckle lifts are driven by the employee in the platform with the boom extended.
