Forklift Tire Specs
Ever since 1917, important tools used within commercial businesses and industry are forklifts. Throughout its history the forklift has changed through various forms, from a tractor with a platform attachment to a specialized high-tech equipment. Forklift tires have also changed into specialized tires, with different types designed to suit particular applications.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
A cushion tire is made of solid polyurethane or rubber and is suitable for indoor work on smooth surfaces. The cushion tire tread is pressed or binded onto the tire's steel ring. Cushion tires are rated ease of steering and for various load capacities. Cushion tires are commonly used in warehouse atmosphere.
Pneumatic Tires
Air or foam is utilized to fill pneumatic forklift tires. They come in two kinds: bias or radial. Depending on the application, they are available with different sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Foam-filled pneumatic forklift tires are less susceptible to punctures and maintain constant pressures. Pneumatic tires are usually utilized outdoors on uneven, rough surfaces.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
The comfortable ride that pneumatic tires offer together with the puncture resistance that solid tires provide are the combined features of Solid Pneumatic Hybrid Tires. They are a great option to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Utilized on wheel loader forklifts are big rubber tires that could either be solid, pneumatic or foam. These kinds of tires are suitable for loading and transporting heavy objects into processing equipment or onto trucks. Big flotation pneumatic tires are suited for masted rough terrain forklifts commonly used at lumberyards, construction sites and auto recyclers.
