Manitou Aerial Lifts Nova Scotia

Manitou Aerial Lifts Nova Scotia

Many workplace applications would need more reach than the usual job. The articulating and telescopic booms is a great option for these specific instances. Engine-powered or bi-energy or electric booms are great for outdoor, indoor or rough-terrain applications, so basically, there is a suitable boom lift available for each type of job. Simply take the time to figure out what kind of cargo you would be dealing with and what kinds of capacities you will require to get the job done.

Articulating booms are described as aerial work platforms which use multiple boom sections which articulate or hinge. These equipment provide a maximum reach of 6.25 meters or 21 feet 5 inches to 69 feet 9 inches or 21.26 meters. These units can vary in height between 36 feet and 11.14 meters or 141 feet or 43.15 meters. Usually, articulated boom units are classified by horizontal reach and by platform height.

Articulating booms are usually used to access work places over obstacles and barriers such as equipment or shelving. As opposed to telescopic booms, they have less horizontal outreach, the articulating booms offer greater versatility and better up and over positioning . This allows better access for overhead work places from congested places and from aisles. Throughout the variety of articulating booms, most of them can hold weight capacities of as much as 227 kg or 500 lbs. These machines are able to easily lift 2 operators and their tools and sometimes extra supplies.

There are both rough terrain and industrial articulating booms, similar to scissor lifts. Industrial models are usually outfitted with non-marking tires and are made for indoor application. The majority of articulated boom manufacturers utilize clean burning fuels like for instance DC electric power or LPG or liquid propane gas for their industrial units. AC drive system technology is popular in industrial forklifts, although it is new to the market of aerial work platforms. This technology combines 3-phase AC drive motors along with DC batteries for more continuous control of turning, braking and drive speed and overall energy efficient operation.

Rough-terrain models are particularly designed to negotiate rugged construction site locations. With features like diesel engines, lug-tread tires, 4-wheel drive and an oscillating axle, these specialized things are common-place on rough-terrain articulating booms. These heavy-duty add-ons are what make these equipment able to withstand the rough environments they work in.
