Forklift Motors
Purchasing a forklift is not to be taken lightly. A forklift is a huge capital expenditure, and a complex machine with a motor strong enough to perform heavy-lifting jobs. The price tag for a forklift ranges from $10,000 to $30,000, comparable to the cost of a small truck. If buying a used forklift, be sure to have it inspected for potential mechanical problems.
There are two various types of forklift motor: electric or internal combustion. Forklifts with electric motors are usually more pricey than those with internal combustion motors. The size of the motor must suit the type of work for which the forklift would be used. A forklift with a big motor costs more compared to one with a motor that is smaller.
Propane or gasoline powered motors are usually stronger compared to electric motor and are capable of raising heavier weight. The disadvantage is that gas motors tend to develop issues more often compared to electric motors. Depending upon the price of propane or gas, gas powered forklifts can be more costly to operate compared to electric powered forklifts.
